Our Guides Are Your Greatest Safari Asset
Your safari guide is the single most important factor in the quality of your Kenya wildlife experience. At Charki Safaris, we invest heavily in our guides — they are not just drivers. They are certified naturalists, wildlife trackers, storytellers, and passionate conservationists. Every guide on our team holds a current Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) guide licence, a valid first aid certificate, and undergoes annual refresher training on animal behaviour, vehicle safety, and guest experience. Many of our senior guides have 10–20 years of field experience and speak multiple languages including English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian.
What Makes a Great Guide?
- Animal tracking skills: Our guides read the bush — fresh tracks, broken branches, alarm calls from impala — all tell a story that leads to extraordinary sightings.
- Patience and positioning: Great photography opportunities require knowing when to wait and where to position the vehicle. Our guides excel at this.
- Local knowledge: Knowing individual animals by name, understanding seasonal movement patterns, and having relationships with fellow guides across the reserve makes every difference.
- Guest sensitivity: Whether you’re a first-time safari-goer or a seasoned wildlife enthusiast, our guides calibrate the experience perfectly to your level.
Guide Languages
